Training sessions are based around Dublin City Centre, with the aim that sessions will be reachable by bike or public transport as much as possible - the wonderful Phoenix Park is heavily leveraged for run and bike sessions.

The training plan is drawn up at the start of the year.

While the current training sessions are in the calendar. Note that many member-led sessions will only be communicated to members through Whatsapp.

Activities

There are numerous club activities which takes place across the year. These as it’s a great opportunity to get to know the other members and share hints, tips, tricks and experience.

For some inspiration check out the Race Reports sent in by various members of the club as they have tackled some of the hardest races in the world.

There are usually a few social events/nights over the summer which we will keep you updated on, the club AGM in October and Christmas parties and award ceremonies.

History

3D Triathlon was created on the high seas in 2001.

The founders, returning from the Windsor Triathlon, wanted to establish a club on the north side of Dublin to provide a counter-weight to the existing ones elsewhere in the City.

The objective was to create a club to welcome triathletes of all levels, from beginners to elites.

The philosophy was to provide top quality coaching and structured training sessions to appeal to a cross-section of abilities.

These are the values that continue to drive our club today. 3D quickly grew to become one of the biggest clubs in the country, attracting 70 members in the first year.

Did you know?

In 2017 the club had three (that's right, THREE!!) of it's members go to the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Check out the race report - it’s well worth a read.
